Divorce 101 for Women – Navigating Separation and Divorce – Support Group…

Join us every other Saturday morning from 10:00-11:30 for the Divorce 101 for Women Separation and Divorce Support Group.

Group Rules:

We are happy to have you participate in our on-line support group. The group is for women who are contemplating or going through a separation and divorce. We meet every other Saturday morning from 10:00-11:30. The cost for the group is $20.00 for each group or two groups for $35.00. Payment is due prior to the start of the group. Once you are added to our google group, you will receive the Zoom link and payment link, prior to the group meeting. We are an open, drop-in group. Below are the guidelines/rules for the group.

1.Confidentiality is very important. Who you see at the group and what is shared in the group needs to remain strictly confidential so as to protect the integrity and safety of those who participate.

2. Cameras off or on. Although we love to ‘see’ everyone, some women wish to attend the group with their camera turned off. Safety and security are our first priority and we need to confirm the identity of each person attending the group. If you wish to keep your cameral off, please follow the ‘Camera Off’ protocol below:

  1.  Turn your camera on when you enter.

B.   Check in with the group leaders and let them know that you would like to keep your camera off.

C.  Turn your camera off.

If you are not comfortable with this protocol, please be in touch prior to the group.

3. Privacy/Children’s Bill of Rights. Please read the Children’s Bill of Rights:

                https:// ww2.nycourts.gov/courts/6jd/tompkins/family/rights.shtml

The content of this document is valued by the organizers of the group. Based on this, it is important that children not be exposed to the content of what is shared in the group. This information is considered ‘adult content’. It could be upsetting or confusing to young people to be exposed to what is shared. If you have children in your home, prior to the start of the group, please set them up in another room with a movie or activity. If they enter your space during the group, please excuse yourself while you re-settle them in another room.

4. Privacy. It is important that you are in a private space and that other adults are not exposed to the content of the group process.

5. Zoom Etiquette

  • Muting yourself while not speaking cuts down on background noise and generally allows everyone to be able to clearly hear those who are talking. Group facilitators may forcibly mute you if background noise in your setting is a distraction to the group.
  • Adjust your camera and lighting so we can see your face well.
  • Dress appropriately, as if we were meeting in person.
  • Avoid multitasking. We are here to support one another so let’s show everyone respect by being attentive while we are together.
  • If you need to move around or step away from the camera during the group, then stop your video so it will be less of a distraction to others. Resume your video once you are back seated.
  • During MOST meetings, we utilize the Chat Feature. Feel free to communicate with others, share your contact information and ask questions via the Chat. It will be sent to you after the group.

If you would like to further discuss any of this information, feel free reach out. We look forward to your participation in the group. Thank You!
